Malcolm’s Ice Cream Originals 1978
Yes — it’s true. Back in 1978, by pure luck, Malcolm created the three original ice cream flavors featured below.
At the time, the ice cream shop next door to his restaurant, Another Someplace Different, went out of business. Inspired to try making ice cream himself, Malcolm bought a book on ice cream making and got to work in the restaurant kitchen.
His 5-year-old daughter, Emily, helped crack and separate eggs for the custard base while Malcolm cooked it on the stove. Using a classic White Mountain ice cream maker packed with rock salt and ice, they made their very first batch.
What came out was something special — and it all started by chance.
The first three flavors were:
- Oreo Ice Cream (eventually renamed Cookies & Creme)
- Milky Way
- Snickers
Now, for the very first time, you can enjoy Malcolm’s original creations in customizable bundles of 3, 4, or 5 pints — mix and match your favorites however you like.
